ABOUT LARKSPUR CANYON DEVO
Larkspur Canyon Devo is a mountain bike race team dedicated to nurturing a love for mountain biking among middle school students. Our team is committed to providing exceptional coaching and support to encourage personal growth, skill development, fitness and foster a passion for the sport.

The “Devo” (short for Development) category in NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) is specifically designed for middle school students - 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The program focuses on developing cycling skills, fitness, and team camaraderie in a fun and supportive environment. The program serves as a foundation to prepare these young athletes for high school cycling teams.
We will have riders racing in NorCal NICA cross country events (the same races as the high school teams, but in the Devo category) as well as several Enduro events, dual slaloms at Stafford Lake and everything and the kitchen sink at Sea Otter.

Our team is based in Larkspur, CA. Our rides start and end in Larkspur right after school gets out.

Our coaches are all volunteer parents. Coaches are certified by NICA and are committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where every rider can succeed.

The size of our team is limited by the number of coaches we have. We need a 6/1 - 8/1 rider to coach ratio on the trails at all times for safety and insurance reasons.

Our team name is derived from the Larkspur Canyon Gang - a group of Larkspur kids who arguably invented mountain biking on Mt Tam in 1968. There is another fun story about them here.

Parent involvement is critical to our team's success. Whether you’re riding alongside the kids, helping with events, or supporting logistics, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
